Mortal Kombat X Includes Easy Fatality Micro-Transactions
With the release of Mortal Kombat X around the world, the spectre of micro-transactions has reared its head. Fans struggling with elaborate input sequences will be able to purchase "Easy Fatalities" DLC packs to simplify the process. It confirms long running speculation about monetization in the 2015 fighter, beyond the standard bonus content.

My favorite thing about this is thinking about the people that are actually gonna need to get them, because odds are if you're not good enough to input left, left, right, right, X, you're probably not gonna win enough to use any of these against anyone but computer opponents.

I also saw that you could unlock EVERYTHING from the krypt for one price. I think it was relatively expensive, but this doesn't really bother me. All of this stuff is unlockable from playing I assume and I think it will only allow NRS to milk more money out of casuals ( A good thing if they want to pay for that instead of learn it or achieve it) and people who aren't yet a major fan of the series and want to play through the game for the sake of playing through it. EDIT: To the comment above me: I would think that is true, and I do not know what kind of "research" they did to find out that a lot of people "just can't do fatalities" (from the kombat kasts) but I would guess those people never played MK before lol.

This doesn't come as a surprise in the least. The tokens used for easy-inputs can be attained through playing the game regularly this is just for the impatient and casual types.
The pay to unlock everything in the krypt option is the one that hurts the most imo but again it's just for the casuals and impatient types.
This is the modern-day instant gratification gaming age we live in now unfortunately.

I don't mind it. I won't buy it though. To be honest I want Netherrealm to make as much money as possible. It's possible it could lead to more and better games from that studio. It's also possible they could go the EA route and give us the same damn game year after year but I think the guys at Netherrealm want to give their fans the best product they can put out. Just give us some better story tellers and writers. That's what I really want.

The concept of paying for easy fatalities is fucking disgusting.
Unlocking everything in the Krypt I kinda understand, but there should just be a secret code for that or something instead.
And I say that as someone who likes to 100% complete games the hard way. I just understand that not everyone has the time or desire to do things that can sometimes get tedious or be very time consuming just to get all the cool stuff.

If you don't need to buy it, why care? If NRS can make money out of the impatient players - the ones who don't care to have the experience the way we want to experience the game - at least let them contribute to one of our favorite game developers this way..!

Pretty damn sure you can earn them in the krypt alternatively.
It's a proven method of making money. Wouldn't you prefer they had more money? The MK games have to make money in order for there to be more MK games. Why is this so hard to understand/ come to terms with? I don't see how it could be something to be upset about unless, for example, there was a ridiculous unlockable in the krypt that was quite necessary for high level play (don't think so, but no spoilers please ) or you couldn't unlock this content through playing the game.
